So I’ve really enjoyed our Public Relations class this semester. It was ran a little differently than I expected but nonetheless I was still one of my favorite classes. I liked how each week we didn’t just come to class, listen to lectures then takes tests. I learn a lot better when a class is hands on and non-conventional. I’ve never blogged before so it was good to finally break into the blogging world. I think I may continue to blog just for fun once the semester ends. The only minor complaint that I have about the class is the weekly chapter questions. I had no problem doing the questions, it was just a matter of remembering to do them. I wish I was a PR major so I could possibly take another one of your classes. :]

MOVIES!

It’s so hard for me to choose just one movie that’s my favorite. It may be against the rules but I’m going to choose two! My first pick is Disney’s Tarzan. When Tarzan came out I was in an extremely happy place in my childhood. I feel like the movie just enhanced that period of time. I also love the quality of animation and the story line. The last thing I adore about Tarzan is the soundtrack. Phil Collins is another artist I grew up with, so I was so happy when I intially heard his recognizable voice. The second pick is the Mummy Returns. The history the movie is based on, the storyline, and the actors are just some of the reasons I love this movie.

Where do I start? Well, as stated in previous blogs of mine I love music. Music is what keeps me going, brightens my day, stirs up emotions and completes me. Deep I know, but I have always felt this way. My love of music began at a very young age. However my love didn’t initially come from music as a whole. The mellow tunes of one particular artist changed my life for the better. He is the type of artist that as soon as you mention his name, nothing else must be said. That innovater is Bob Marley. I recall the low hum of his melodies filling my grandpa’s house on lazy summer days. He is one artist that never gets old to me. Not only are his songs beatiful, his lyrics speak to a place deep in my heart. Everyone that is closest to me knows how much I adore him and his legacy. Lately many have lost the sense of what he is about. Sadly some associate his name with the use and image of marijuana. Despite that tainted image I remain a loyal fan of what made him, him. His remarkable music.

The most BORING Spring Break of my life.

I really do not want to grow up. I remember the days of having an all expense-paid Spring Break courtesy of my parents. Now that I have bills to pay, whether or not I go on Spring Break depends on how much money I have. Since my money supply has been low recently I did not take a trip. Actually I did the complete opposite. I worked all week instead of visiting a beach or taking an exotic vacation….(sigh) I guess this is a part of growing up.

The Olympics

When I was younger I loved the Olympics. The thought of the best athletes in every possible sport competing was very exciting. However, as I get older I don’t find the Olympics that interesting anymore. I don’t know if its because the athletes aren’t as good or if they just bore me. It’s a great thing to watch during the lazy summer months but if there isn’t an athlete like Michael Phelps my interest is usually short lived. Last year was the first time in a long time that I actually watched the majority of the games. I think the hype that surrounded Michael Phelps brought back some competiveness and excitement.On that note, my favorite sport to watch during the Olympics is swimming and diving. For some reason I’m always on the edge of my seat when I watch these matches. Lastly, I have to say that I think they should do away with the winter games. Not once have I sat down and watched those games.

Although I do enjoy things like playing softball and hanging out with friends I would rather listen to music and read. In my opinion nothing beats reading a great book while listening to your favorite song. I guess my past time makes me a loner in a way but sometime I just like to have time to myself.

My little sister is the most important to me at the point in my life. Although she is younger than me, I could not imagine life without her. For nine years of my life I was the only child until she was born. We have a big age gap between us that does no affect our relationship. We compliment each other because we have are the two extremes that a person could possibly be. Some let those type of differences divide them but it makes up that much closer.

I can’t live without my iPod,cell phone and a good book!

I really believe that technology has taken over my life. Whenever I leave my ipod or cell phone at home I feel incomplete. And on days like that my day automatically seems to go downhill. I am a huge music lover so having my music collection at my finger tips is a must. My cell phone is my connection to the world. Not only do I use it to call and text but I use it to get on the internet and social networking sights like Twitter. Reading is very essential to my week. Snuggling up with a good book helps me to relax and wind down after hectic week of school and work.

2010 Superbowl…

Well, I am a huge football fan. However, I usually do not care about who plays in the Superbowl unless its the Philly Eagles or the Oakland Raiders. With that being said I always end up watching this ritual anyway because of my love for football and the hilarious commercials. I always end up quoting the commercials weeks after the Superbowl ends and in essense that’s what the companies want (along with exposure). The two teams that are playing this year should make for a really good game. But what seems to be getting equal attention is who the star players significant others are. Reggie Bush of the Saints is dating reality star Kim Kardashian and Hank Baskett of the Colts is married to ex-playmate Kendra Wilkinson. All week I’ve been seeing stories on E! about how these two women are getting ready for the big game, as if they are playing! I think it’s funny how the media has in a way has shifted more towards them rather than the players.

I agree 100 percent with what the author of this article is saying. It is very obvious that Tiger Woods needs to come out with a public apology, however I never thought to consider who he would do his interview with. If he were to interview with a powerful and well known female video journalist like Oprah, women would be more likely to forgive him. Why? Women basically eat up anything Oprah says(hence the success of her book club), and if she somewhat showed that she has forgiven him many other women would to. I also agree that Tiger needs to make a comeback not just for himself but the marketing and advertisements that are associated with his name. When certain companies clients look bad that sheds a bad light on the particular organization.
